In the Spring of 2025, we spent 4 weeks in New Zealand; 2 weeks on each Island, working our way south to north. We started in Queenstown, a place very similar in vibe to Moab or Squamish. Then on to Mt Cook (Aoraki) where we stayed at the wonderful Hermitage and then to Nelson where we trekked in the magnificent Abel Tasman national park. Our final stop in the South was Wellington with its Te Papa Tongarewa museum. Our tour of the North Island started in the Art Deco town of Napier and then on to Rotorua, centre of the Maori culture and geothermal activity. We traversed the Coromandel Peninsular and up as far north as the beautiful Bay of Islands. Our trip ended in the very livable city of Aukland, largest city in this very livable country.
