Welcome

A man and woman taking a selfie at the Matterhorn.

I’m Chris Hall, a Vancouver-based travel and landscape photographer.

My work focuses on travel, landscape, and the experience of place — from remote wilderness to densely populated cities. Through photography, I aim to capture not just how a place looks, but how it feels to be there. You can visit these various regions using the Travel Blog navigation above taking you to the icebergs of Greenland, the Ganges in India, paradise in Bora Bora, the elegance of the Canal du Midi and much more!

My portfolio section includes more focused assignments such as abstract photography and fun with ferrofluids in the form of magnetic alchemy. Some of these are the result of assignments for photography courses, others from personal observations.

I live in Vancouver, British Columbia with my wife and constant travel companion, Nicole.
