St. Moritz

St. Moritz is known as the birthplace of winter tourism and modern Alpine sports and is also the only town in Switzerland to have hosted the Winter Olympics. Although clearly focused on providing the wealthy with an exclusive lifestyle, we found it welcoming and its residents refreshingly approachable.

Just getting there is an all-day delight… on the Glacier Express. Express may be a misnomer as it takes 8 hours from Zermatt but most of us wanted it go on forever. We can only imagine what this journey would be like in mid-winter with snow all around. Perhaps we need to go back!
