Lucerne

Lucerne, also know as Luzern, was the starting off point for our “Grand Train Tour of Switzerland.”

From the moment we landed in Switzerland, we were captivated; our hotel was a converted prison! Some of the inmates were not very happy with this sentence.

Our trip to the nearby Mt. Rigi Kulm was unforgettable. We started with a scenic boat ride in a paddle steamer across the waters of Lake Lucerne, then boarded an old and historic cogwheel train for a smooth and scenic climb to the summit. Alas, it was socked in but we enjoyed it and the city itself very much.
